ABSTRACT: Social capital has provoked interrelationships among its members in higher education, such as
thesociability of aspects that allow the practice of human values, in an effort to achieve a quality education.
Todemonstrate, an empirical study of a significant sample of 143 students from two public universities was carried
outand the data was collected through a random survey in the Chimborazo province of Ecuador. It was determined
thatthe university does generate social capital as a diffuser of knowledge, since during the training the student
fosterscharacteristics that favor its conception and development.
